The first design of fractional currency was issued for 5, 10, 25, and 50 cent denominations and printed between 1862 and 1863. Also known as postage currency, each note featured pictures of a five or ten cent stamp — or a combination of both since no 25 or 50 cent stamps existed at the time. We also have second, third, fourth, and fifth issue fractional currency for sale.
